Thomas Wettach: 2003er Thurgau ein Wein der Superlative

Quelle: Thurgauer ZeitungWINTERTHUR - Die Spitze der Volg Weinkellereien mit Thomas Wettach, Geschäftsführer; Urs Schweingruber, Leiter Kulturen und Kellereien, sowie Michael Balmer, Leiter Kellerbetrieb, sprechen beim Jahrgang 2003 von einem Wein der Superlative. Nach ihrer Meinung ist es den Önologen gelungen, Weine zu vinifizieren, in denen die Wärme und die Kraft des letzten Jahres förmlich zu spüren sei. Die Fachjournalisten wollten beim Medientermin in dieses Loblied noch nicht einstimmen. Es sei noch zu früh, diesen speziellen Jahrgang schon beurteilen zu können.

Obituary: Mrs. Irma Nellie (Huntley) Wettach

Source: The Monroe TimesNEW GLARUS, WI, USA: Mrs. Irma Nellie (Huntley) Wettach, age 78, of New Glarus, WI, passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2004 at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Monroe, WI.

Irma was born on April 21, 1926 in Adams Township, Green County, the youngest of four children born to Stillmon and Nellie Huntley. She attended Prairie View School. On January 8, 1946, she married Jacob Alfred Wettach in Monticello, WI. Jake and Irma operated a dairy farm near New Glarus and then near Belleville until selling it in 1999, when they moved to New Glarus. She was a housewife, active mother, co-operator on the dairy and very active with activities throughout her life.

She was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Belleville, The New Glarus Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary, including the drill team, GUGG Auxiliary, Green County Homemakers, Green County Agricultural Chest, Belleville Senior Citizens, local and county 4-H leader and an active cast member for many years in the Wilhelm Tell Play. Since residing at Pleasant View, she was welcoming chairman for new patients. Irma worked hard, supported her children in every way, bowled, cooked, gardened and loved to visit with relatives and friends. She also enjoyed the Packers and Brewers on TV. Irma was deeply loved and brought joy to many É she will be missed by all.

She is survived by: a son, Edward and daughter-in-law Lisa Wettach in New Glarus, WI; a daughter, Eloise and son-in-law Joe Seaman of Bonner Springs, KS; Five grandchildren: Megan, Cole and Logan Wettach and Samuel and Melissa Seaman; a sister, Evelyn Bidlingmaier of Monroe, WI and a brother, Leland Huntley of Brodhead, WI; three sisters-in-law, Rose Coffey of Madison, WI, Helen Wettach of Monticello, WI, and Margaret Huntley of Brodhead, WI; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one brother, Lawrence Huntley and sister-in-law, Florence Huntley and three brothers-in-law, Lawrence Bidlingmaier, John Wettach and Robert Coffey.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 18, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Church of Christ, Belleville. The Reverend William Macintyre officiating with burial in Highland Cemetery, Monticello, WI.

Relatives and friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home at 29 6th Avenue, New Glarus, WI.
