Pierre Wettach lets AU's Easbrig Compete in Law of Armed Conflict

The Minister of Defence General Marcel Gatsinzi receives a 'Red Cross Cup' from the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Pierre Wettach. Looking on (C) is Brig.Gen. Frank Rusagara, the Commandant of the RDF Military Academy in Nyakinama, Ruhengeri. This was during the EASBRIG competitions.

In his acceptance speech, the head of the ICRC delegation in Rwanda, Pierre Wettach, appealed to the participants to respect rules.

"As the military, you may have to engage in different circumstances. Sometimes these may have something to do with the lives of people. Respecting the rules and norms might bring a difference," Wettach implored.

The opening ceremony was attended among others by the Commandant of the Nyakinama Military Academy Brig Gen Frank Rusagara, Brig. Gen Gerald Kalimba and officials from the ICRC.
